How to create a booking QR code for your business
Turn your Bookio booking page into a QR code for business cards, reception desks and printed materials. Follow this checklist before you print.
Give your QR code one clear job
A useful booking QR code takes someone directly to the page where they can choose an appointment. Put a short instruction beside it, such as “Scan to book your next haircut” or “Choose your next treatment.” The wording should explain what happens after scanning. For a salon, barbershop, tutor or pet groomer, this can connect a conversation at the counter with a booking the client makes later on their own phone.
Prepare the page people will open
Before generating printed materials, review your business name, address, services, prices and opening hours. Check which employees can provide each service. Add your logo or a recognizable brand color so clients can tell they reached the right business. A QR code only opens a destination; it cannot fix an incomplete booking page. Make sure the page is useful for someone who has never booked with you before.
Get your business's QR code from Bookio
Owners can open Share & QR to download their business's QR code and access a printable card layout. Each business has a permanent redirect identifier separate from its editable business name. The redirect is designed to send visitors to the business's current booking page. Public scanning depends on the Bookio domain and hosting being live. A local preview on your computer is useful for design checks, but it is not proof that a printed code will work on a customer's phone.
Keep the printed code easy to scan
Use the downloaded SVG when preparing artwork so the code stays sharp at different sizes. Preserve the empty border around it, use strong contrast and avoid placing a logo or text over its modules. Leave enough physical space for people to aim a camera comfortably. Include a readable booking address alongside it as a fallback. A decorative background should never make the code harder to distinguish.
Test the real print, not just the design file
Print one sample at the intended size and scan it with more than one phone. Test under lighting similar to the counter, card holder or window where it will appear. Confirm that it opens the correct business and that you can reach available appointments. If it points to a domain that is not live yet, postpone the print run. This check matters more than whether the code looked attractive in the design editor.
Know what the analytics can tell you
Bookio's analytics can count consented views and booking activity after visitors arrive on the page. The current dashboard does not provide a dedicated QR scan counter, and a page view does not tell you whether someone scanned a card or clicked another link. Do not label all visits as scans. Use the QR code to make booking convenient, then evaluate it alongside client feedback and actual appointments rather than assuming every scan becomes a booking.
